"European & International Deaf Theatre Festival 2008 Vienna"

The deaf actor Horst Dittrich presents in Austrian Sign Language three productions of the 9th European & International Deaf Theatre Festival presented by ARBOS – Company for Music and Theatre in 2008 in Vienna at the "Theater des Augenblicks". The presented productions on this videoclip are: "Winter Journey" (Song Cycle to poems of Wilhelm Müller composed by Franz Schubert / A Concert in the Theatre including Sign Language / Sign Language Actor: Horst Dittrich (deaf actor) / Singer: Rupert Bergmann (Bass Baritone) / Piano: Gert Hecher / Costumes designed by: Sanzaba Dimna / Light designed by: Bidpai / Translation into Austrian Sign Language: Horst Dittrich / Director, Producer and Dramaturgy: Herbert Gantschacher.) "I Can See Something You Cannot See" (A play by Herbert Gantschacher performed by Arkadiusz Palatinsky of Teatr 3 Szczecin) "Striptease" (A play by Slawomir Mrozek performed by Arkadiusz Kolota and Adam Sapritonow of Teatr 3 Szczecin directed by Herbert Gantschacher). „The Principle of Hope“ Today the problem of education is evident all over the world. Not all people get the chance for a good education. But education for all people on the same level is necessary for a peaceful development of the society on earth. Since 2000 we see the privatisation of education. This privatisation brings up a new different system of classes of the society. This situation is not helpful in the world of the 21st century. But this situation will be reflected in the programme of the festival as in the productions “Winter-Trip” by Franz Schubert (Music) and Wilhelm Müller (Poetry) presented by the deaf actor Horst Dittrich together with the singer Rupert Bergmann (bass baritone) the piano player Gert Hecher in a production of ARBOS-Company for Music and Theatre. Or the production “Words in Different Meanings” of the Polish dramatist and director Arkadiusz Buszko (Teatr 3 Szczecin / Poland). Or “The Hessian Messenger” by Georg Büchner (performed by an international group of deaf and hearing artists). The art of theatre will remain us, that natural right is not the source for a peaceful development. The mankind needs the same rights for all people.
